DARKROOM CONTEMPORARY'S Development Initiatives provide platforms and create opportunities for skills development and exchange among all involved. These development initiatives work towards making dance accessible to all, youth development through arts education, audience expansion and raising the profile of dance.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Skills development and personal growth define our development initiatives. Programmes aimed specifically at youth development through arts education include:

AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT

We believe in making the arts accessible to all.  Our audience development 

initiatives work towards taking dance outside the theatre, to everybody. These include:

  • Free Pop - Up Performance in Public Spaces

  • Dance Film Screenings and Q&A Sessions

  • Studio Performances and Artist Discussions

INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT

Darkroom Contemporary provides platforms and opportunities for cross disciplinary exchange, in a bid to contribute to the existing performing arts landscape in a meaningful way. These programmes include:
